Open-ended: permanent (from January 2025) The Opportunity: Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Teaching Fellow in Italian in the Department of European Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh. This guaranteed-hours post is available from January 2025. The postholder will deliver and convene courses for the Italian degree programmes, with a specialism in translation from Italian to English. They will play an active role in the administrative tasks of the subject area, as appropriate, including course organisation. The postholder may also be required to support student learning meetings. They may be involved in developing innovative pedagogical materials designed to strengthen discussions regarding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion as part of broader efforts to question and decolonise our curriculum. Your skills and attributes for success: Degree in a relevant area. Commitment to high-quality teaching, learning and assessment with demonstrable success in delivering effective university teaching in relevant fields (such as translation, Italian language and/or Italophone culture). Excellent oral and written communication skills in Italian and English, and clear communication with students in correspondence and feedback. An ability to teach translation from Italian into English. Evidence of self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing and prioritising within a varied workload. £40,247 to £47,874 per annum, pro rata. Grade UE07
