Gateshead Council is seeking to appoint a Traffic Network Officer to join the Network Management Team. The Team works across a broad range of highway issues including general traffic management, public traffic issues, abnormal loads, public rights of way, events on highways, and managing dropped kerb and disabled parking application processes.
About the role:
You will assist the Network Team in its various highways tasks as well as working closely with the general public, utility providers, and local councillors to provide solutions to everyday highway issues and network planning issues. Knowledge of civic engineering procedures and good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills are essential requirements for the post. A qualification at BTEC National Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering or Transport Planning together with experience with AutoCAD and highways general transport planning would be an advantage.
You should possess a current driving licence.
Commencing salary will be dependent upon level of qualifications and experience.
