As a key member of our clients engineering team, you will be responsible for driving improvements in manufacturing efficiency, developing and implementing new processes, and maintaining the highest standards of product quality. Key Responsibilities As a Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities will include: • Process Development & Optimisation: Evaluate, design, and improve manufacturing processes by researching and testing methods, materials, and equipment. Work to optimise workflows, improve space utilization, and enhance equipment layout to boost manufacturing efficiency. • New Part Introduction: Oversee the introduction of new parts into production, including creating technical documentation, such as data cards and technical instructions. Ensure smooth integration into existing manufacturing processes. • Quality Assurance: Lead and support quality control efforts on the site. This includes managing quality systems, conducting audits, maintaining calibration schedules, overseeing maintenance activities, and implementing corrective actions to ensure products meet the highest standards. • Cost & Budget Analysis: Collaborate with the production team to calculate production, labour, and material costs. Prepare cost estimates, assist with budgeting, and make recommendations for cost-saving measures without compromising quality or efficiency. • Customer & Vendor Interaction: Interact with customers for technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Occasionally visit customer sites to install, commission, and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction and product functionality. • Collaboration Across Teams: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including branch offices and technical departments, to review project specifications, layouts, and manufacturing requirements. Ensure all manufacturing processes are aligned with customer and project needs. • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions. Use data-driven approaches to analyse production performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement new techniques or technologies to enhance efficiency. • Health & Safety (EHS): Support health and safety initiatives on site, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Assist in enforcing site EHS procedures and work closely with external agencies when needed. • Technical Guidance & Training: Support the training and development of technicians and other engineering staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their tasks effectively and safely. • Reporting: Prepare regular reports for senior management, tracking project progress, manufacturing performance, and timelines. Highlight any challenges and suggest improvements as necessary. Requirements • Engineering Background: Relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or a related technical field is required. • Manufacturing Expertise: Proven experience in manufacturing environments, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, product design, tooling, and materials. Familiarity with technical documentation and data card creation is a plus. • Quality Systems Knowledge: Experience in quality assurance, including knowledge of audits, corrective actions, calibration, and testing methods. Experience with ISO or similar quality standards is an advantage. • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve production challenges efficiently. • Global Exposure & Travel: This role will involve frequent international travel to customer and manufacturing sites. A valid passport is required. • EHS Knowledge: Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards. Ability to contribute to maintaining safe and compliant work environments. • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and customers. • Project Management: Experience in managing or supporting engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and progress tracking.
