We are looking for an Inspector who is competent with assessing components to ensure they are created to a high standard. If you are a skilled machinist who is looking for a role off the tools, with further training and progression, then this is the role for you.
The company is based in the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and has been operating in the area for over 50 years. They pride themselves on using the best technology to produce top quality, highly durable products, with a high proportion of manufacturing carried out in-house.
We are offering a negotiable salary which is subject to the experience of the candidate, with standard working hours, 08:00-16:00 (with an early finish on a Friday).
Ideally, you will have previously worked as a machinist and are now looking for your first role off the tools. Further training on quality processes and standards will be provided.
Inspector Duties:
1. Flag any rejects/rework data by activity, process, department, individual, etc.
2. Manage process improvements through liaison with all departments.
3. Log and monitor quality issues.
4. Monitor and expedite design improvements with the Drawing Office.
5. Monitor and improve jigs used in the manufacturing build process.
6. Involved in establishing quality standards for production of new products.
7. Improve and implement process change to ensure repetitive mistakes are minimized.
8. Perform measurements of all parts requiring checks.
9. Maintain gauge calibration status within the organization.
10. Partake in audits when required and report any findings to your supervisor.
Experience Required:
1. Experience with inspection of machined parts.
2. Familiar with quality testing machines and systems.
3. Industry experience within a manufacturing or engineering sector is required.
4. Ability to read engineering drawings.
5. Ensuring parts are signed off to company standards.
6. Strong problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail.
7. Ability to work alone or as part of a team with the ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
