We have a great opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team within Vistry South East Midlands, at various site locations around Leicester. As our Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be report to the Managing Surveyor. This role will be based on sites within the East Midlands geographic area. Main duties will include administering main contracts, subcontract management inclusive of monthly payments and final account settlement and cost reporting. Extensive experience working within the construction industry. Experience of administering main contracts. Significant experience working within the construction industry, for a main contractor and on affordable housing, retirement villages and development projects. Demonstrable strong account management and commercial experience. Entrepreneurial ability to optimize profit in a continually changing environment. Well-developed analytical, oral and presentation / communication skills. be proven in commercial and risk management on similar schemes for similar sized contractors within the region The successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity, maturity, and sound business judgment. Possess the creativity, commercial expertise, and commitment to successfully lead commercial activities on site. Driven by their own ability to affect the outcome of the project and achieves job satisfaction by delivering strong results. Able to successfully communicate, create rapport and form working relationships with members of the project, sub-contractors and management team. Desirable - Degree in Quantity Surveying. Membership of an industry recognized professional body (CIOB, RICS, CInstCES). Experience of housing projects and developments. Staff leadership and management of junior team members. Experience at a similar level within a Construction organisation for at least five years. Experience of COINS Good excel skills More about the Senior Quantity Surveyor role Strive to optimise the profitability of the Contracts you work on. Regular assessment of work, variation assessments, processing payments and issuing notices in line with Sub-contract conditions. External Valuations and management of main contracts under JCT conditions or bespoke Development Agreements. Pricing, negotiating and agreeing variations, extensions of time and loss and expense with the client's representative. Negotiating and obtaining Collateral Warranties, and other bonds, warranties or guarantees. Timely submissions in accordance with Contract requirements to maximise profit and cash flow. Generation of scopes of works against which sub-contracts will be procured by our buying team. Taking off and scheduling materials for procurement by our buying team, and monitoring usage and forecast cost. Drafting and administering design and consultant appointments in conjunction with the design co-ordinator. Monitoring risk and opportunity schedules and managing risk from Commencement to Completion. Provide input and cost and value engineering advice throughout the design life of the scheme and attend design team meetings. Ensure company health and safety standards and procedures are followed throughout the team. Proactive approach to sub-contract management and dispute avoidance. Producing and monitoring cash-flow and Value Cost Analysis reporting. Compliance with company business management system procedures. Monitoring of sales values, sales extras and incentives, and sales and marketing costs for the site. Managing statutory services providers and installers.
