As part of its growth strategy, the company is seeking an experienced commercial leader to strengthen sales, drive new business opportunities, and build strategic partnerships.
Role Summary
This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the company’s commercial strategy. The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will oversee sales, business development, and marketing efforts while leading key commercial negotiations with partners and institutional clients. This individual will play a critical role in scaling the business, expanding into new revenue streams, and positioning the company as a leader in the energy efficiency sector.
The CCO will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to establish new partnerships, optimise sales processes, and enhance go-to-market strategies. The role includes direct management of a growing commercial team, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, strategic deal-making, and commercial execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a commercial strategy to drive growth, revenue, and profitability.
* Lead sales efforts across multiple market segments, identifying and securing new business opportunities.
* Oversee and refine the company’s sales processes, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
* Build and manage relationships with key partners, including industry stakeholders, suppliers, and service providers.
* Negotiate contracts and commercial terms to optimise financial and operational outcomes.
* Lead the brand-building, marketing, and PR strategy, positioning the company as a market leader.
* Represent the business at industry events, speaking engagements, and strategic partnerships.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience: 7+ years in a senior commercial or sales leadership role, ideally in sustainability and energy related sectors.
* Sales & Business Development: Proven track record in direct sales, business growth, and commercial negotiations.
* Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability, and market trends.
* Stakeholder Management: Exceptional relationship-building skills with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
* Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify new market opportunities and develop data-driven growth strategies.
* Leadership & Team Management: Experience in scaling and managing high-performing sales and marketing teams.
* Procurement & Tenders: Familiarity with bid writing, framework agreements, and tender processes.
* Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and negotiation skills to drive optimal contract outcomes.
