Prodrive Recruitment Ltd are seeking a skilled Power Press Setter to join our clients dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating press machinery. To be successful in the role of Power Press Setter you may be working /or/ have worked as a Tool Setter, Machine Setter or Setter/Operator on Power presses. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for producing high-quality components while ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
* Operate and monitor press machinery to produce sheet metal components.
* Set up tooling and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
* Perform basic maths calculations for measurements and material requirements.
* Fabricate parts using hand tools and mechanical equipment.
* Grind and finish products to meet specifications.
* Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure proper functioning.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
* ROSPA or Power Press Certification.
* Proven experience as a Press Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
* Experienced/fully conversant in Setting tooling into Power presses including HME’s, Arboga’s, Bliss’s, Aida’s and Rhodes ranging from 10T through to 500T capacity.
* Set up and operate coil, strip and blank feed mechanical presses;
* Set tooling and coil feeders – completing as per engineering drawings.
* Able to load and amend machine settings and make tool changes as required to our busy schedules.
* Complete “1st off” and “last off” sampling to ISO 9001:2015 Quality management system requirements ensuring that drawing specifications have been met in full.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
* Counterbalance Forklift Licence desirable but not essential as in-house training can be provided.
* Familiarity with tooling, sheet metal processes, and fabrication techniques.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
This role is offered on a Temp to Perm basis and the hours are worked over a four day week Monday to Thursday. Providing employees with a three day break on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday
