Audit Quality & Technical Senior Manager The role We have an exciting opportunity to join the Azets Quality and Technical Team as a Quality & Technical Senior Manager to provide support to our client-facing audit teams as part of our business' exciting growth journey. Whether you are already in a technical role or in a client facing role with a flair for delivering practical solutions in the face of complex audit and financial reporting requirements, this role presents an exciting opportunity to help support our client facing teams. This is primarily a home working role, however travel to offices will be required to fully embrace this role. Key accountabilities You will be responsible for providing support to our audit teams as they undertake high quality, risk focussed, engagements by providing knowledge, consultation and resources across a number of areas, including: Providing Technical and Practical Support to our Teams Consultation and Advice : Providing authoritative and clear advice on complex financial reporting issues, high-risk engagement reviews, key audit judgements and ethical consultations. Overseeing and supporting other team members in delivering accurate and practical advice and technical support. Audit Platform and Approach Expertise : Providing expert level support for teams on the use of the firm's technology enabled audit tools, including its core audit platform and analytics tools. Expert guidance on the application of the firm's audit approach. Training and Development : Identifying advanced training needs, designing and implementing comprehensive remedial action plans, and delivering high-level training sessions informed by quality monitoring activities. Audit Quality Improvement : Supporting and coaching audit teams on best practices and audit quality improvements. Developing Resources for our Teams Creation and Management of Advanced Resources : Curating, developing and overseeing the creation of high-calibre intellectual resources (articles, workpapers, procedures, guidance) with strategic input from leadership, ensuring exceptional quality and practical relevance. Content Review and Coordination: Managing content review processes, including fatal flaw reviews, and coordinating business activities to ensure timely and effective resource delivery. Acting as the Product Owner for tools and resources. Advanced Guidance and Resources : Developing and disseminating sophisticated guidance and resources to support complex practical audit, financial reporting, and audit key issues/ judgements. Reviews and approves guidance provided by other team members. Audit Approach Development : Design and implementation of updates to the Azets Audit Approach based on regulatory change, user feedback and monitoring findings. Strategic planning: Plans long term intellectual resource needs and builds investment cases for investment in development of new resources. Projects and Innovation Leadership in Strategic Quality Initiatives: Leads and coordinates high-impact quality improvement initiatives, integrating comprehensive feedback and driving strategic plans at the firm level. Acts as a Project Owner for key initiatives. Innovation and Operational Efficiency: Implements cutting-edge solutions to enhance audit quality and operational efficiency, contributing significantly to the firm's strategic objectives. There will be opportunities to get involved across other areas of our Quality & Technical Team work as well, including involvement in our audit quality monitoring programme, representing the firm at events, providing thought leadership in technical areas and working alongside other technology, analytics and approach specialists within the team. Skills & experience Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CA or ACCA) In depth knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP Experience in external audit and an aptitude for practical application of technical requirements Excellent insight and analytical skills Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills Passionate about audit quality with a desire to seek new ways to drive improvement A willingness to work flexibly both as part of a close-knit team and as a self-directed individual Other This role may appeal to someone currently residing in a technical position, or someone with experience of audit quality and technical matters looking to make their first move into an internal facing quality and technical role.
