Applications are invited for the post of Desktop Delivery Engineer to provide support to the Trust's desktop environment. The role is part of the Desktop Delivery Team and the position is based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
This 2nd Line IT Support role is part of a wider support team that looks after 10,000 users across HHFT
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic person to join our team who has excellent customer service skills. A good, calm, reassuring manner is essential with a strong attention to detail. You will be taking a variety of support calls, aiming to fix all technical issues remotely or in person via proactive floorwalking so a natural flair for problem solving is a must. The successful applicant will have a good knowledge of MS Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, SCCM, Windows Defender / LAPS / Encryption, WIFI, PC / Laptop & Printer Hardware and Microsoft Office / M365, as well as experience of single sign on solutions. Previous second line Service Desk experience, and be able to demonstrate a range of technical skills is essential. Experience of using a computerised Helpdesk/Service Desk and Remote Control Support Tools is part of the role and knowledge of ITIL processes and Wireless technologies would be advantageous. We also manage other bespoke hospital applications for which Training will be given and good communication skills is needed as you will be liaising with third party suppliers.
You need to be a team player as well as be able to work on your own and we would welcome applications from candidates with a variety of levels of experience.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will provide support within the IT Desktop delivery Team in line with the FT strategic objectives and quest for continual improvement in delivering a 'best in class' ICT service to its customers.
The Desktop Engineer role is to support and maintain all operational activities of the IT desktop technical environment and the operational services it provides to its customers, as well as provide support for IT solutions that enhance critical business operations. The post holder will report to the Desktop Delivery Manager and collaborate directly with other members within the team and department. The engineer is also expected to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the trust and its customers.
