This is a great opportunity to join the Business Change Team which sits within the Adult Social Care Adult Commissioning & Health team.
At this time, we are looking specifically for an experienced Adults Social Care practitioner (with a relevant professional qualification in a Social Care and Health context, (for example: Social Worker or Occupational Therapist).
We are especially keen to explore applications from those with an Adult Social Care background, to be involved in the development of new Commissioned services or a new Case management system. We are interested in practitioners who are keen to be at the forefront of change; working closely with project teams, to influence this change process and ensure that practice and the person/carers, remain at the centre of change.
This role provides an interface between the wider business and change projects across Social Care and Health and 'selling' projects back into the operational community, influencing and leading at all levels of management and staff, across a broad and diverse range of services and organisations.
The role requires the ability to robustly challenge the project process and other professionals representing the business, in ensuring project delivery is realistic, workable and beneficial to the overall service.
We are looking for confident, vibrant people who can work independently, but also as part of a team. We are very keen on practitioners who hold Equality and Diversity very strongly as part of their value base.
You will get involved at an early point in the projects, aiding the planning of the change, identifying benefits, problem solving and supporting risk management. When a project is nearer implementation, this work can involve developing training plans and at times actual delivery of training, writing of staff guidance and follow up support, to ensure the changes are embedded into practice and processes.
You will need good communication skills, diplomacy, a positive approach, a good dash of humour and present your work professionally, often to senior management. You will need experience of working in an Adult Social Care environment. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wishes to progress their career in Commissioning, where project work and business change, especially within local government, is exciting, creative and innovative.
Good IT skills are required and an understanding of project methodology an advantage. You would be working across more than one project at any one time and expected to travel across Devon periodically, however at present the majority of our work is now online, working from home. We offer an in-depth induction period, and lots of support through monthly supervision and team meetings, weekly catch ups, with your manager, and training supported, where required. You will be encouraged to maintain strong links to front line, operational practice, to ensure that change within Adult Social Care has a clear focus on operational needs and processes.
For an informal chat about the role please call Jeff Walker Senior Business Change Manager on 01392 38 22 31 (leave a message and I’ll get back to you ASAP) or Helen Duff on 01392 382782.
