We are currently recruiting Quality Lead, with experience in food manufacturing, to join the Team at our Coleraine site on a 12-month FTC.
Kerry Coleraine, which sits on the banks of the river Bann has a long history of producing high quality dairy products since the 1940s, today the site supplies a range of cheese slices to both the food service industry and to all major UK and Ireland supermarkets. Along with these traditional business avenues there is also a child’s yogurt plant and a newly commissioned appetiser plant which is a part of the continued innovation and development which Kerry is famous for.
This key position has ownership over compliance, auditing and quality for our dairy consumer foods site. With 3 direct reports, you will be based on site, driving and reporting on continuous improvement with our production team members.
This role is Monday to Friday, with 1 Sunday per month to carry out a hygiene audit.

What will I be doing?
1. Continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing appropriate ‘KPS’ Methodologies, such as 8 Step Practical Problem Solving.
2. Guide, train and support the Technical Team and Production teams to ensure Quality inspections are in place including and not exhaustive of Cleaning Pre-start etc
3. Support the development of Site Quality Management System. Develop process quality documentation ensuring alignment with Kerry Group, Regulatory, Customer and 3rd Party Standards.
4. Help facilitate and on occasions lead out the investigation and resolution of non conformances (including non-conformances relating to product, process, internal and external audits) - communicate issues and feedback to the Quality Function.
5. Through analysis of Production Stream Performance Data, identify performance gaps, trends and improvement opportunities and communicate internally using visual management standards in the Production Stream and externally to site management team.
6. Develop the Site HACCP Plan and Lead the HACCP.
7. Primary focus on Quality/Technical - Identify and solve issues and customer complaints using Problem Solving Tools (3Cs, Fishbone, 8-Step) and maintain all relevant records pertaining to the incident and communicate issues to the relevant Manager on site and/or crisis management team.
8. Facilitate in customer audits and visits to site.
9. Manage Audit Corrective Action Response Facilitate the internal (including mock product recalls and FG traceability challenge) and external Quality Audit process with a primary focus on Process Controls, Product Quality, Food Safety Controls and GMP. Preparation of the formal audit response with relevant parties.
10. Provide support and involvement in the RD&A/NPI processes on site to ensure the efficient and effective introduction of new products and materials onto site whilst maintaining all required safety and quality standards.
What experience and skills will I need?
11. Education Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject
12. Fluency of English language
13. Analytical skills with the ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data
14. Experience of managing a team.
15. Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
16. Knowledge of the BRC Global Food Standard and specific customer standards as they apply
17. Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing
18. Ability to solve problems using 8 Step Practical Problem Solving.
