What's involved with this role: Interim Joint Safeguarding Business Manager Job Ref: Dudley 108130 Pay Rate: £388.70 per day PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 6-7 months City: DUDLEY This key role involves driving interagency collaboration to reduce abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals in Dudley. You will champion safeguarding for children, young people, and adults at risk, building effective partnerships to enhance service delivery through the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership Board (DSPPB). Responsible for the strategic and operational management of safeguarding arrangements across the Borough, you will lead the development, commissioning, and evaluation of multi-agency workforce development activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice to the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership to ensure compliance with legislation and statutory guidance. Develop the Safeguarding Partnership’s strategic priorities and design, coordinate, and deliver action plans for improvement. Offer professional advice and challenge to Statutory Safeguarding Partners, the Independent Scrutineer/Chair of the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership, senior leaders, and sub-group chairs. Provide leadership to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory frameworks. Manage and coordinate activities within the DSPPB Business Unit, ensuring consistency of systems and processes. Oversee and manage all sub-groups of the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership. Ensure that partnership-wide actions and initiatives are aligned with strategic goals and regulatory requirements. Key requirements: Degree or equivalent level in a relevant subject area (eg Social Worker, Nurse, Police Officer) Knowledge of both children’s and adults legislative frameworks Knowledge and understanding of the role and function of safeguarding partnerships across childrens and adults social care, other strategic bodies and agencies with a responsibility for safeguarding. Significant experience of operating in a multi-agency board setting Significant experience of advisory or practice work within a children and young people’s or adult protection agency Significant experience of providing advice or management oversight in respect of safeguarding practice, procedures, decision-making and policy. Substantial experience of partnership working and able to do so at a strategic level.
