HQ Field Army at Andover is where the Field Army is commanded from and Commander Field Army has the responsibility for preparing, training, and equipping the forces under his command for operations worldwide. You will be part of crafting the future of the Army logistics and equipment support to all Front-Line Commands. Logistics Branch is responsible for delivering logistics inputs into Army strategic and contingency planning, support delivery, Up and Out horizon scanning, delivering logistics support to all Fd Army, sustainment planning, forecast and management of in year consumption of commodities, monitoring and reporting logistics risk, supply chain fragility, explosives licencing, efficiencies and assurance. The role is a critical enabler for Raw Materials & Consumables (RMC) across the Army, and the only post that directly supports the function. Army will spend more than 12Bn on RMC over the next ten years, and this position is an enabler for the capability management for the Logistic Branchs responsibilities across Defence. The role is responsible for delivery of efficiencies / benefits of 530M over ten years by driving down additional cost into both ongoing equipment support costs and purchases for the future. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description Working in the Logistic Support team, Army Lead for RMC is responsible for developing raw materials and consumables (RMC) understanding and ways of working across the Army, utilising the Resource Management Service as the key enabler for the Army Support Operating Model (ASOM). Also, influencing future RMC capability in tandem with other modernisation & digitisation projects and the integration and development of the Services into the ASOM, and optimise the current team, capabilities and outputs. As Product Owner for the Resource Management Service, the incumbent is well placed for further developing the service to provide all management information and outputs required for discussions with the Delivery Agent, providing the commodity managers with the requirement for annual service agreements, monitoring the performance of Army and the other front line services, as well as writing Service Level Agreements and Holding to Account. You will be responsible for: Developing the Army processes for the Raw Materials and Consumables (RMC) framework change. Facilitating the Army RMC meetings and attend the RMC working group, to update on the Army position and report on the Service Level Agreement (SLA). Army lead for the Army Support Operating Model (ASOM) implementation. Brief all Army stakeholders as required in order that the requirements of the ASOM are understood and acted upon, and provide guidance where this is required, in support of the RMC planning, forecasting, demanding, consuming and disposal activities. Provide input and assurance on purchase and consumption plans for reviews. Work with finance & accounting staff to ensure outputs are used as the financial values for RMC. Provide the Army input into the Defence Joint Support Board RMC Working Group in the development of performance measures and in year management processes. Provide Army input into consumption forecasts, providing support to other services as required to enable this to be completed. Adhere to the in-year change management process for internal service level agreements that ensures traceability of any changes to the main document or annex values. Business Change Manager for the re-establishment of the Resource Management Service, and Product Owner for the PowerBI tools produced by the Logistic Support team. Provide the Army focus point for the Productivity team, working constructively with all stakeholders to develop the information system that underpin the RMC logistics and financial processes. Ensure that all required documentation, schema, business rules and algorithms associated with the RMS are produced and stored for sustainability. Identify the benefits associated with the RMS and work with the Efficiencies Team to capture and document these.
