SUMMARY OF MAIN DUTIES
We are seeking a personable and friendly IT Technician to help support IT within the Trust. The ideal candidate will have a passion/strong interest in technology and a strong commitment to providing exceptional support to our school community.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work efficiently and effectively with people of all ages and technical abilities.
This role involves travelling to various Trust school locations across Essex both scheduled and reactive, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential. As are a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support:
* Provide friendly and approachable first-line technical support to students and staff.
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
* Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
* Build and support the ChromeOS network infrastructure including Chromebooks and Chromeboxes.
* Build and support the small Windows network that exists alongside the ChromeOS network.
Google Workspace Administration:
* Manage Google Workspace accounts and settings for students and staff.
* Provide localised training and support on Google Workspace applications (e.g., Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
* Implement and enforce Google Workspace security policies.
* Deploy applications and manage enterprise enrolled Chrome devices
Network Administration:
* Assist in managing and maintaining the school's cloud based Cisco Meraki network infrastructure
* Assist in managing the printer infrastructure.
* Assist with implementing and enforcing network security policies.
Hardware Maintenance:
* Maintain computer equipment and re-build where necessary.
* Manage inventory of IT equipment using an asset inventory system.
* Assist with the management of the iPad fleet using Meraki cloud.
Software Support:
* Install and update software applications.
* Provide training and support on software usage if required.
Classroom Support:
* Assist teachers with technology integration in the classroom.
* Provide technical support for educational software and applications.
Travel:
* Be willing and able to travel to different school locations to provide IT support.
GENERAL
* To participate in the performance development plan process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
* To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health & safety in the workplace
