Job Description:
Title: Senior National Account Manager
Mission: To maximize retailer accounts and maximize company profit
Job Summary: Responsible for profitably managing sales, forecasting, and developing an existing portfolio of major UK accounts. You will drive growth across your account base, introduce new brands, and build strong relationships with your buyers.
Authority:
* Reporting to the UK Head of Sales
Key Result Areas and Activities:
* Strategic Planning, Forecasting & Sales Planning and follow-through
* Establish timelines for Spring and Autumn/Winter Sales Presentations and order due dates
* Prepare Joint Business Plans for each buyer/category, including store count, catalogue, web, etc.
* Propose promotional activities such as print ads, catalogue ads, end caps, Save promotions, etc., with financial considerations
* Maintain the business plan throughout the year/season
* Prepare item forecasts for each account and monitor throughout the season
* Present business plans to customers aligned with retailer seasonal timelines
* Analyze EPOS data weekly, share insights with the UK Head of Sales, MD, and other departments
* Collaborate with account and Brand Marketing teams to identify cross-licensing opportunities, in-store promotions, ad campaigns, and license commitments, ensuring licensed products are well represented
* Coordinate with the merchandise/stock team to maintain stock levels
* Follow up and close sales proactively according to the sales plan
* Participate in sales meetings
* Provide competitor and product information for key accounts
* Monitor sales goals and variances monthly
* Develop short and long-term sales goals based on strategic plans
Position Requirements
Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
* At least 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining sales relationships within the toy industry with major retail accounts
* Existing relationships with major retailers and ability to present to new clients
* Strong presentation and negotiation skills, capable of challenging clients when necessary
* Ability to influence senior decision-makers
* Experience in assessing client terms and negotiating effectively
* Self-driven, strategic thinker with risk and opportunity analysis skills
* Proficient in developing, presenting, achieving, and monitoring JBPs
* Financial control skills, including managing marketing and promotional spend
* Excellent communication skills for sales data and market insights
* Up-to-date knowledge of products and competitors
* Strong Excel skills, including lookup and pivot tables
* Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset
