The role
Orbit are delighted to announce that we are looking to recruit a HR Advisor to join on a 12 month fixed term contract.
As a HR Advisor, your role will be to provide advice and support, from first point of contact to resolution, to line managers and colleagues on all employment matters including (but not limited to) sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance and capability issues.
Joining a Colleague Resolutions team of 3, you will have experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership. This role will primarily be based out of our Coventry office with hybrid working, however there will be occasional travel to our various sites (South East, East Anglia).
What you'll achieve
Your key responsibilities will be to:
1. Lead on casework, providing guidance for line managers, ensuring policies are followed, documents are issued and outcomes are recorded.
2. Support the development of HR policies, manager guides, workflows and checklists to ensure consistent advice is provided which complies with legislative changes.
3. Build and maintain effective working relationships with managers and key stakeholders across the business.
4. Support the business as needed during the implementation of change programmes – i.e. restructures, harmonisation programmes, TUPE, undertaking consultations and preparing necessary documentation.
5. Act as note taking support within formal ER meetings.
What you'll bring
Essential skills
1. Proven experience in managing complex Employee Relations cases, from the start through to resolution.
2. CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards, or equivalent experience.
3. Good working knowledge of current employment legislation and its application in the workplace.
4. Strong customer service focus with effective verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to advise, influence and coach managers confidently on ER issues.
6. Experience of operating within a HR shared services environment.
