The Role We require a multi-skilled HGV driver to join our team, reporting to our Fleet Manager. As HGV Driver and Plant operator completing tasks set by the Network delivery Scheduler, you will carry out plant and machinery movements the business requires, in conjunction with the Foreman and Build Managers in an efficient and timely manner. You will also assist the Foreman, where required, in the delivery of materials to site / alternative locations or as directed by the warehouse team. In the unique position of seeing all kit from across the teams, and as an experienced HGV and plant operator, you will have a keen eye for detail and set the standard for equipment care and fleet husbandry; You will regularly be required to assist on certain projects as a machine operator. Key Responsibilities Undertake all delivery tasks set by the Network Delivery Scheduler. Loading, transporting, unloading plant, equipment and stock safely. Monitor the condition and ensure roadworthiness of the vehicle allocated to you, complete daily Fleetcheck inspections. To proactively inspect any of the vehicles, machines, and equipment you are asked to transport to check for any defects or damage. Support the department in operating other machinery as and when required to. Assist others in practicing the highest standards of equipment care. Always work safely inline with Wessex Internet’s H&S policy. Job Requirement / Skills Current & valid CE Minimum of two years’ HGV experience. Lorry Loader (Desirable) Experienced plant operator. Previous experience of groundworks and machinery. Good mechanical knowledge. Problem solving abilities. Work well individually as well as part of a larger team. Display excellent customer facing skills.
