Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure Projects Swindon Salary: Up to £45,000 - £50,000 DOE 30 days holiday pension bonus Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with paid breaks) Location: Swindon office with occasional site visits. A growing commercial team is looking to add an experienced and hands-on Quantity Surveyor with a background in infrastructure to oversee projects. This position will report to the Head of Commercial and is based in a central office with occasional travel to various project sites. Key Responsibilities: As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll manage the full lifecycle of commercial operations for infrastructure projects. This includes overseeing financials, ensuring compliance, and contributing to cost management and contract administration. Monitor and control project costs, including weekly P&L reporting. Review and advise on contract documents. Track project progress and provide cash flow forecasts. Generate and review commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs), and finance reports. Manage subcontractor relationships, including forecasting, raising orders, and negotiating terms. Handle subcontract documentation, requests for proposals, and quotation assessments. Issue orders, certify subcontractor valuations, manage invoicing, payments, and final accounts. Oversee change control, risk management, and value management processes. Assess and value variations and compensation events. Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final account agreements. Attend site meetings for progress, risk, and commercial reviews with clients. Participate in tendering processes and assist with pricing. Support credit control with forecasting and cash recovery. Work closely with operational teams on commercial and contractual matters. Provide additional administrative, reporting, and project support as needed. Required Qualifications & Experience: Degree or equivalent certification in Quantity Surveying (preferred) Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying. Experience of aiding with bid submissions Estimating experience Strong financial and commercial awareness. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel. Solid understanding of NEC or similar infrastructure contracts. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to manage multiple tasks proactively and strategically. High level of integrity when handling confidential information. Prior experience in rail or similar infrastructure projects is preferred.
