About the role
As a Product Manager within Customer Payments, you will drive the product strategy, roadmap and execution for the Payment Data Hub product at Tesco. Your mission is to enrich the Retail Platform with valuable payment data, providing end to end visibility and comprehensive insights that drive strategic decisions and create tangible value across the wider organisation.
You will own and manage the payment lifecycle data capabilities across all channels and markets. You will bring together high-quality payment data across the group covering the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, enabling internal clients and consumers access to a universal set of modern APIs that allow them to answer the question “What happened to this payment?”. You will work closely with partner teams to unlock exciting new capabilities powered by the data, such as Payment Intelligence, E2E Monitoring, Anomaly Detection, Chargeback Disputes etc.
You will be empowered to deliver with speed and impact. You will initiate product discovery and identify opportunities to deliver increments that are desirable for customers and colleagues, technically feasible, and viable for the Tesco business.
You will work as part of the Customer Payments team in Tesco Technology, a cross-functional Agile product development team of engineers, technology product managers and programme managers. Our portfolio of payment products includes card payment readers and cash acceptance instore and across our petrol filling stations, digital checkouts, payment gateways, payment data security & payment history.
You will be responsible for
* Initiating product discovery and identifying opportunities to deliver increments that are desirable for customers and colleagues, technically feasible, and viable for the Tesco business.
* Contributing to our broader payment strategy, including; new payment experiences, the future of card payments, open banking, native wallets, closed loop schemes and much, much more.
* Working as part of the Payments team in Tesco Technology, a cross-functional Agile product development team of engineers, technology product managers and programme managers.
You will need
* Experience of leading an API or platform product to build new lines of business
* Business process mapping, workflow optimisation, human centred design
* Technical proficiency to influence and understand the solution context and approach (legacy, tactical, strategic) and trade-offs in software development choices
* Experience building scalable, resilient transactional services as part of a wider service-oriented architecture for multiple consumers and front-end apps to use, e.g., Tills, Online
* Demonstrable progress against Objectives and Key Results
* Experience taking multiple ideas through the software development lifecycle, from conception to go-live and ongoing optimisation
