Purpose of the role The role will involve rotations across Management Accounts and Financial Services to gain knowledge and experience of the different aspects of NHS finance, alongside studying for a nationally recognised qualification the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) via an Apprenticeship. The role is primarily office-based, with 80% of your time spent working within our team and 20% allocated to college studies as part of your apprenticeship training Key responsibilities of the role General Responsibilities to ensure financial information is processed in accordance with procedures and in order to provide information for statutory returns, through completion of own work to investigate financial enquiries, providing assistance and advice as required to ensure that work is completed in line with financial requirements, timescales and legal requirements to input, monitor and check data as required work with all team members in the production of information for reporting work towards successfully achieving Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification, in conjunction with gaining practical experience from the work place to carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required, commensurate with grade Management Accounts Within Management accounts, you will be supporting the Management Accounts team with payroll and running costs budgets, helping to investigate variances attending budget manager meetings with colleagues preparation and posting of journals contributing to monthly reporting Financial Accounts Within Financial Accounts, you will be supporting the Financial Accounts team which is responsible for the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Cash Management Functions of the ICB. This will include, but in not limited to: processing invoice requests processing payment requests investigating and responding to queries including emails that arrive via the finance generic email inboxes validation of Non-Contract Activity invoices Personal Development to attend any training associated with the apprenticeship programme and complete units within deadlines shadow team members, attend meetings and undertake learning opportunities attend training sessions, workshops and e-learning modules as required
