Due to an increase in workload, we are now looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our Skip Hire Operations team. You will be working from our Operations hub at Moreton Valence (Gloucester). You will be required to assess and put together the best routes for our Skip Hire vehicles whilst liaising and problem-solving with drivers and customer-related queries. You will need to be confident speaking to customers and drivers.
Full training will be provided, but the successful candidate will have at least 1 year's experience in a planning role.

Hours: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm (option of earlier or later start and finish times for the right candidate)
Salary: £32,000 + dependent on experience
Responsibilities for the job role:
* Managing the day-to-day workloads of Skip Hire vehicles and resolving issues accordingly.
* Evaluate and assess best routes and job lists for Skip Hire vehicles bearing in mind cost implications of logistics and customer service and instruct drivers accordingly.
* Ensure that drivers are informed of lorry inspection date and time, liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth running of this.
* Complete a daily update of drivers (including breakdowns/issues) and advise the Skip Hire Admin Team to ensure that orders can be fulfilled.
* Check and authorise driver daily log sheets and bring to the attention of the Operations Team any information that requires further action, i.e., overbooking of hours, reduced work rate, and check for consistency with tracker.
* Prepare the weekly driver working rota to ensure necessary cover to fulfil orders including Saturday working and advise the Operations Team accordingly.
* Ensure vehicle daily checks are carried out by drivers and that each vehicle is kept clean and tidy by drivers.
* Receive and direct appropriately incoming phone calls and emails for the ordering and supply of services.
