GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Support Worker in Wimborne to provide vital assistance to students with a range of learning and developmental needs. This role is ideal for someone with a compassionate and patient approach who wants to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting.
As an SEN Support Worker, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Your role will be essential in helping students build confidence, develop essential skills, and overcome learning barriers.
Responsibilities of an SEN Support Worker:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEN.
* Assist with classroom activities, ensuring students stay engaged and motivated.
* Implement personalised learning strategies tailored to individual needs.
* Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
* Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to develop and adapt lesson plans.
* Encourage independence and confidence in learning and daily activities.
* Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
* Promote positive behaviour and a supportive classroom atmosphere.
* Assist with sensory and physical needs where required.
* Maintain safeguarding and health and safety standards at all times.
SEN Support Worker Requirements:
* A relevant qualification in education, psychology, childcare, or special educational needs is beneficial.
* Experience in supporting children with SEN as a SEN Support Worker is preferred.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to adapt to different student needs and learning styles.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
* Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
