Learning Mentor Opportunity
Location: Hounslow (TW13)
Start Date: Immediate
Remuneration: £95 - £115 per day
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, term time only
We need a dedicated and proactive Learning Mentor to join a thriving three-form entry primary school in Hounslow (TW13). This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Mentor or a passionate Teaching Assistant aspiring to advance into a mentoring role.
Role:
The successful candidate will provide both academic and emotional support to pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2. A significant aspect of this role involves supporting the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision, working closely with children requiring additional assistance to maintain engagement in their learning.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored academic and emotional support to students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and class teachers to implement individual support plans for SEN interventions.
- Employ positive and proactive strategies to manage behaviour, ensuring students remain engaged.
- Support pupils' social and emotional development, fostering confidence and resilience.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SEN team to refine interventions as necessary.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that supports all children.
Candidate:
- Prior experience in a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or Pastoral Support role.
- Experience supporting SEN students, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties.
- A solid understanding of Key Stages 1 and 2 education, with the ability to adapt support strategies accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
