We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed individual to lead the Portfolio Management Office (PoMO) for the Mid Wales Growth Deal (MWGD).
This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward a £110m capital investment from the UK and Welsh Government in a £300m+ portfolio of key investments that will significantly enhance the regional economy in partnership with the private sector.
About the Role
As the Portfolio Director, you will be responsible for leading the MWGD Portfolio and its constituent Programmes and Projects to achieve the objectives of the Portfolio. You will manage the Portfolio Management Office, ensuring effective resource allocation, governance, and business case production. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative and energized culture focused on delivering positive change in the regional economy.
Key Responsibilities
* Resource Allocation: Prioritize and allocate resources across the Portfolio.
* Project Pipeline: Develop and maintain a project pipeline for regular review.
* Governance and Reporting: Establish governance frameworks and reporting regimes.
* Business Cases and Assurance: Coordinate business case production and ensure appropriate assurance.
* People and Leadership: Communicate a shared vision, support decision-making, and promote collaborative working.
* Planning and Resourcing: Maintain delivery maps, track interdependencies, and develop strategies to address resource gaps.
* Risk Management: Identify and manage Portfolio risks and ensure consistent risk management practices.
* Stakeholder Management: Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and ensure regular review and communication.
* Benefits Management: Develop and oversee benefit measurement and tracking.
