The Role
The Governance Services Team are looking to appoint Minute Clerks to be part of a casual pool. This is a great opportunity for appropriately skilled persons to expand their skills and supplement their income, working around their employment and family commitments.
The post holder will be required to attend school governing and trust board meetings on a flexible ad-hoc basis, where they will take notes and then prepare minutes. Payment will include up to 1.5 hours preparation time; the time spent in the meeting and up to 3 hours to complete the minutes. Meetings take place at various times throughout the day and early evening and last for approximately 2 hours.
About You
As well as attending governing body and trust meetings and taking notes to prepare good quality minutes, post holders should have the ability to present information clearly and assertively. You would provide support on procedure to aid the smooth functioning of the meeting.
It would be useful for the successful applicant to have an understanding of the role of governors and trustees within the management structure of a school or academy and although experience in governance procedure would be desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided.
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and be able to demonstrate good organisational skills as well as being competent in word processing and the use of the Microsoft Windows Word package. Evening working may be required.
Applicants should have access to a personal computer with Microsoft Word application.
