About the Role: We're looking for a Technologist to join the technical team at our ready-meals site in Carlisle. This site is a fast paced, dynamic and ‘no two days the same’ environment, making it a great place to work. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible ensuring product safety, hygiene standards, quality assurance, and associated control systems are maintained across the site during your shift. Key responsibilities include: Line managing the Quality Assurance (QA) team on shift Working closely with colleagues in technical, operations, and engineering to ensure compliance and promote best practice Resolving issues such as customer complaints, material variance, and rejections Finding resolutions to issues as they arise in the factory to ensure production is able to continue while product quality and food safety is maintained Carrying out audits and providing corrective actions, while escalating if appropriate. Looking for new and improved ways of working and cost saving initiatives About You: Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment, including at least 1 year in a technical or quality role Ideally educated to HNC level or equivalent in a food related discipline Leadership skills, able to motivate a team and allocate tasks Organised and adaptable, able to manage and prioritise a busy workload Excellent communication skills, able to work well with, and influence, colleagues at all levels
