We are seeking a Consultant to join the Grantham CMHT team, as part of our Adult Community division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of general adult psychiatry and who is able to support the CMHT team in providing care for people recovering from ongoing mental health problems.
The role is full-time at 10PAs per week. We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, with scope for remote working which is negotiable through the relevant Clinical Director. As the role may entail home visits and travel across the county, it is integral that the postholder is able to travel via car, due to limited public transport.
Main duties of the job
* Assessment of new referrals.
* Medical review of patients as agreed in multi-disciplinary meetings.
* Home visits when required.
* Attending multidisciplinary case review meetings.
* Attending weekly team and leadership meetings.
* Attending management and academic meetings.
* Advice to GPs/Liaison Teams/Hospitals (occasional hospital attendance may be required).
* Preparing reports and attending mental health tribunals for patients on Community Treatment Orders.
* Comply with safeguarding legislation and obligations.
* Reviewing and preparing reports for patients subject to Sec 37/41 of the Mental Health Act 1983.
* Assisting trust-sponsored research projects.
* Supervision of non-medical prescribers.
* Giving clinical advice to team members as needed.
* Responsibility for assessment of emergencies, including assessment under the Mental Health Act 1983 and Section 136 assessments as part of on-call rota.
* Providing cover to community consultant colleagues on a mutually agreed basis.
* Participation in on-call rota.
* Working within a multi-disciplinary team and facilitating individual care and treatment.

Person specification
Qualifications and Eligibility
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
* Included on the GMC Specialist register, or within 6 months of completing.
* Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
* Approved under Section 12(2) or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
* MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
* DBS clearance.
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* Willingness to engage with further training in general psychiatry.
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
