About the role:
The Access & Recreation (A&R) Officer will be placed within the Conservation and Engagement team and report to the Access and Recreation Manager. They will work alongside another A&R Officer in overseeing the Countryside Wardens in ensuring responsible access on the ground at all FCCT sites and support initiatives to encourage responsible outdoor access. They will also support the A&R Manager in the delivery of local authority statutory outdoor access duties throughout Fife.
About you:
We are looking for a driven and proactive individual to join our team. You will bring with you the following skills and experience:
* Educated to SCQF level 6, which includes an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject (eg. Countryside Management). Time-served experience in a relevant position will also be considered.
* Working knowledge and understanding of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 and how it affects access rights.
* Good track record of collaborative working, developing, and maintaining effective relationships.
* Good standard of communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Confident and approachable demeanour as well as ability to negotiate and be diplomatic, but also assertive.
* Confident talking to and conveying the FCCT message to a wide range of people from different backgrounds and with different opinions.
* Responsible character, capable of working independently.
* Excellent team player, able to be flexible and put shared goals before self.
* Proactive and hard-working attitude with a bias towards action.
* A suitable standard of fitness (able to walk 15 miles and use hand tools like saws and spades) and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
* Confident working with hand-held machinery such as chainsaws and strimmers.
