Transport & Logistics Officer AASC West Bromwich Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday 0800-1530 hours. Must be flexible. Salary: £24,265.00, plus Serco Benefits. You are required to have a valid UK driving licence for this role. Perform driving duties in line with company CSOPS, LOP’s to ensure the safe transportation of passengers, furniture, and rubbish clearances. To ensure the vehicle is maintained in line with the company policy and procedures and report any defects. This role is field based, working across the whole of the Midlands and East of England (MEE) region. Main Accountabilities: To drive company assigned vehicles as required complying with statutory regulations and company policies and procedures to ensure safe practices. To ensure that the welfare and care of passengers and their dependent Children being transported is maintained to a consistently high standard, ensuring their moral and legal rights are observed and the constant care of their property is undertaken. To Transport passengers and their dependent children in full compliance with the instructions, regulations and guidelines produced by Serco and agreed by the UKVI. To Transport furniture, white goods, appliances, and household items To Transport rubbish clearance of bulky loose waste, including furniture, broken appliances, garden refuse, fly-tipped, home improvement & builders waste To be trained in PAT testing to support the business as and when required. To be familiar with the procedures set out for working within the rules of Serco AASC and to meet the requirements of the UKVI contract. To install best practice philosophy with regards to documentation and paper systems, in conjunction with daily duties. To maintain effective communication links with the Service Delivery Centre (SDC) and the Transport Operations team, as instructed with regards to the progress of the passengers or any other appropriate matter. Liaise with stakeholders and external agencies as required. To carry out duties as specified in the Contingency/Emergency Response Plans as directed by management. To liaise as required with Management and the service delivery centre ensuring that the daily working regime remains within compliance of the contract. To carry out all other duties in the function as directed by the management. To be responsible for the completion and dispatch of documentation relating to the passengers as required. To utilise IT systems to complete any administration, including time sensitive journey reporting. Responsible for personal and, if applicable, team compliance with Health and Safety, Security and Environment / Sustainability Policies, ensuring working minimise risk to self, work colleagues, customers, staff and the environment. Minimizing disruption practices and resolving any unscheduled delays, having to make decisions in difficult situations. To perform weekday shift working, Out of Hours Incl. bank holiday and overtime shifts as required. This may be subject to change due to work requirements and business need. To adhere to strict KPI 4 and KPI 7 timescales for authority requested movements. Conflict management and resolution. Perform dynamic risk assessments on all potential risks/threats during transport of Service Users or products. To be familiar with the risk assessment process and how to access the required documents that identify the key risks and control measures. Complete AORA incident reports to be submitted to UKV.I To arrange routine servicing and MOT of assigned vehicle, ensuring planned and unplanned works are completed and vehicle is fully compliant. Complete daily vehicle inspections, including tyre tread depth checks, reporting any faults/anomalies, and ensuring vehicle is booked in for required works. Accurate completion of paperwork in line with contractual obligations for auditing purposes. What you’ll need to do the role: Good written/ spoken English. CRB Clearance and Security Clearance at CTC level (Counter Terrorism Check) required (Serco Civil Government is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office). Subject to and satisfied Immigration and Right to Work checks. Valid UK Passport must be held. Regular eyesight tests will be required for the driving role.
