An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Care Pharmacy Support Worker based across North Ayrshire.
What you will do:
You will join the GP Pharmacy Service as a Primary Care Pharmacy Support Worker. The role is vital to support NHS Ayrshire & Arran in North Ayrshire in delivering the Pharmacotherapy Services, ensuring safe and effective use of medicines.
You will work with practice pharmacists and pharmacy technicians by undertaking routine tasks. Some of these tasks may require a moderate degree of technical expertise. You will also be required to discuss the use of medicines over the phone with patients.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
* Good standard of general education with qualifications in three subjects including English and Maths.
* Experience of dealing with the public.
* Experience of working in an administrative role.
* Experience of working in the NHS or a healthcare environment.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office Programmes (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e-mail, and the ability to use and search the internet.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Good concentration and prioritisation skills, i.e., ability to complete tasks on time.
* Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
* Flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing environment.
You must be willing to undertake attaining SCQF level 6 in Pharmacy Services including SVQ assessments.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
This role requires a full driving licence and access to a car, which is essential to this role.
