Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 55 year old woman living in the Barry area with my partner. I am a chatty woman who likes to socialise and get out of the house when possible. I enjoy going for out meals, going to the bingo and visiting Barry Island. I also enjoy having a joke and have a good sense of humour.
I have a diagnosis of depression and anxiety and need a PA to support me to deal with this.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
I am looking for a PA to support me to complete domestic tasks and to support me to access the community.
HOURS OF WORK
I have 4.25 hours per week available.
RATES OF PAY
£13 per hour
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Helping me complete housework that I struggle to complete alone. This can include:
Ironing.
Bathroom and Kitchen cleaning.
Helping me around the garden.
Taking me out into the community and supporting me while out. Places can include:
Barry Island.
Bingo.
Going out for some food.
Taking me shopping.
Taking me to Church.
Supporting me while out and ensuring my safety. My mobility is getting worse and I currently use a stick to aid me.
Help me to knit by reading patterns for me.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A car driver with business class insurance.
Someone who uses their own initiative and tries to get me to do things.
Someone who is happy to work in the house with animals. I own a cat, a hamster and fishes.
A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
A reliable and punctual person.
Experience/confidence working with mental health would be a bonus.
ABOUT THE JOB
This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
