The RSC is looking for a Cafe Assistant to join our catering team to assist in the efficient running of the Riverside Café and Green room and support the seasonal summer activity on the Terraces where you will deliver excellent customer service to ensure guests have a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. You will be responsible for food and beverages across our Cafes and Bars.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
* To work collaboratively with the Catering Supervisors and Managers in the delivery of a leading food and beverage offer across the Riverside café, Terraces and green room, both in and outside of performance times and in line with audience development objectives.
* To always ensure that the cafes and terraces are presented in a style appropriate to the service, to the standards set by the management team.
* To greet and welcome all customers in a constantly warm and enthusiastic manner.
* To have a detailed knowledge of all food and drinks on the menu / drinks list and how to serve them.
* To take responsibility for all food and drinks order, ensuring that the style of service is friendly, efficient, and informal.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
* A good understanding of customer service.
* The ability to work quickly and cleanly under pressure.
* A passion for food and drink.
* Excellent standards of personal appearance.
* Understanding of relevant H&S legislation.
* Ability to operate a till and process card payments.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Stratford upon Avon.
You will be working 39 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, although occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
