The opportunity
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer has become available where you will be responsible for overseeing the project planning for mechanical and electrical installation works within the turbine hall of a large-scale nuclear new build project, ensuring smooth progress and timely delivery.
The role
This role will be based in Bridgewater, Somerset. Site-based preferred, but hybrid working can be discussed for the right candidate.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £70k-£85k per Anum, depending on experience.
Security Requirements: Candidates will need to pass BPSS security vetting.
Health & Safety Certifications: Must hold CCNSG or CSCS H&S Test for Managers (MAPS).
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Develop and maintain detailed schedules for design, engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
Manage progress databases and produce regular reports (Weekly/Monthly) on project status.
Perform milestone projections, delay analysis, and float path analysis.
Oversee Earned Value Management and monitor project performance and productivity.
Attend planning meetings, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and lead weekly work planning systems.
Prepare tender schedules, histograms, and manage resource and cash loading for schedules.
Provide data for payment applications and complete contract review reports.
Ensure quality and accuracy of schedules, reports, and advise on potential issues and solutions.Health and Safety Responsibilities
Managers and supervisors are responsible for ensuring the health and safety of employees and those affected by the work. Employees must understand and apply necessary safety controls and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.You will have the following qualifications and experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
5+ years of experience in construction planning.
A construction-related degree is preferred.
Skilled in leading meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach.
