OverviewThe primary purpose of this position is to ensure the commercial activity linked to day to day operations, is both profitable, and managed. The candidate will support various business functions, providing information, coaching, and introducing new processes. With principle focus being on protecting business profit and reducing unnecessary spend.A successful candidate will provide quality outputs, as required, for both internal and external stakeholders. This role will have line management responsibility for a small team.ResponsibilitiesRoutinely investigate Arcus client spend to ascertain commercial viability of Arcus contractsSuggest and facilitate activities to continuously improve the aboveMaintain strong relationships with support departments to identify opportunities to improve overall profitability and departmental efficiency.Define and deliver (with the support of MI) manager level reporting to field departments to highlight all cost related issues including incorrect costs and apportionment.Work with the Operations Contract Support team, and operational functions, to ensure that the Operations Contract Support team and other administrative functions are upskilled/trained to deliver the expected serviceAssess financial risks involved with new initiativesEnsure all deadlines are met for billing and commercial aspects of contractual complianceCreation of contract precis to support colleague understanding of scope of worksProvide guidance and training to operations colleagues on how to maximise the commercial benefit of contracts with no detriment to delivered serviceIdentify opportunities where change to process, or behaviour, will increase revenue/profitProvide strategic updates on how the business can increase profitability, and reduce identified revenue lossesProduce transactional spend reporting, with summaries of spend activitySupport other business areas develop operationally sound and commercially aware processesReview introduced changes, to determine success or further changeMonitoring financial KPIsProduce billing reporting, to aide client invoicing processesMonitor daily, transactions on spend, ensuring correct approval processes are adheredSupport department leaders identify areas of opportunity, to improve the quality & accuracy of purchase order generation, and records associated to self-procure processesAs required, preparing quotations, and submitting them for client approvalManage the purchase order received process – confirming goods or a service has been received, whilst validating the content of the fields or a PORepresent the department mobilise new contracts/agreements, as part of the mobilisation teamWork proactively with the Supply Chain team to address problems before they escalate with suppliers and service providersSupporting the department to meet internal KPI’s & objectivesAlways respond promptly to requests/instructions meeting the requirements of the business and the clientFollow company policies and procedures as directed and work to actively deliver the company and departments visionAd hoc duties as per the needs of the businessRepresent the business in a professional mannerEnsuring that we work in a compliant, ethical & best practice manner alwaysRequirementsA relevant degree or qualification is advantageousExperience in commercial analysisA strong administrative backgroundHave experience leading a successful teamAbility to interrogate data, mainly using ExcelExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPointWorking knowledge of Microsoft Vision or other process/workflow mapping softwareAbility to operate specialist software/systemsExcellent communication skills both written and verbalGood analytical skills and deadline drivenDeliver tasks with a high degree of accuracyTeam player but capable of working on own initiative to fully understand implications of changes and effective working methodsExcellent organisational skillsOutstanding customer service skillsWhen you join us, you’ll receive:Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (pro rata) depending on experienceup to 10% bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets25 days annual leave + Bank HolidaysGenerous contributory pension scheme of matched contributions between 5% and 6%Life AssuranceFree eye test and contribution towards glasses with Specsavers (T&Cs apply)Learning & Development opportunitiesFunded Training Sponsorship SchemeSalary Sacrifice Electronic Vehicle SchemeCycle to Work SchemeHealth Cash PlanUp to 10% off B&Q / Trade Point20% off Nuffield Fitness and Wellbeing CentresDon’t miss out on this great opportunity, apply today by clicking on the ‘apply’ button.
