Service Manager – Main Dealership
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Salary: £40,000 Basic, OTE £45,000

We are seeking a dedicated Service Manager to oversee the service department at our clients main dealership in Bury St Edmunds. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Service Manager who thrives on leading a team and delivering exceptional customer service.
About the Role: The Service Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the service department. As a hands-on Service Manager, you’ll drive performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and support the growth of the business. This role is perfect for a proactive and organised Service Manager who excels in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As Service Manager, lead and manage the service team including advisors and technicians
Supervise, train, and motivate the team – a core duty of any Service Manager
Ensure the Service Manager function complies with all policies and industry regulations
The Service Manager will focus on improving departmental efficiency and customer satisfaction
Handle escalated customer issues as the senior Service Manager on site
Monitor departmental KPIs and ensure all Service Manager targets are achieved
Collaborate with other departments – a critical function of the Service Manager role
Provide regular reports and updates to upper management, as expected from a Service Manager
Promote best practices in service delivery as a performance-driven Service Manager
The Service Manager will maintain high standards in customer handling and service quality
Stay updated with manufacturer standards and apply them effectively as a Service Manager
As Service Manager, ensure the workshop operates smoothly and efficiently
Implement continuous improvements and cost-effective strategies – key tasks for the Service Manager
Lead by example and promote a professional atmosphere as a visible Service Manager
Contribute to business development by identifying growth opportunities as a strategic Service ManagerRequirements:
Proven experience as a Service Manager or similar role in the motor trade
Strong team leadership, communication, and management skills essential for a successful Service Manager
Knowledge of service operations, workshop procedures, and customer service standards
Analytical and strategic thinking to support the Service Manager in achieving targets
Full UK driving license required for the Service Manager positionWorking Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
