Stirling Council seeks a Procurement Specialist to support the Corporate Procurement function through strategic and operational procurement activity, delivering best value and benefit across the city, towns, and all communities in the council area.
This role requires excellent creative thinking, problem solving, collaborative working, and communication skills. The post sits within the Corporate Procurement function, reporting directly to one of the council's Category Managers.
Within this function, you will be part of a team of commercial and technical professionals delivering strategic sourcing activities for specific categories of spend, achieving best value and delivering on savings targets while maintaining and improving quality and service levels.
As a subject matter expert, you will have the skills and relevant experience to support and monitor the council's strategic commissioning and procurement activity efficiently and effectively. You will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, working within robust and transparent systems while maintaining strong relationships. Recognising the challenges that local authorities face, you will support the team to meet increasing customer requirements and deliver business needs.
