As we move into AMP 8 and continue with our growth plans across the UK & Ireland, we are looking for experienced Design Managers to join our teams. Multiple major framework wins have reinforced our pipeline of work and provide our teams with the opportunity to get involved with projects throughout feasibility, detailed design & build phases. In the South, our recent appointments include Welsh Water's Engineering Consultancy Framework, Southern Water's Professional Services Framework, and South West Water's Engineering Consultancy Framework.
As Design Manager, you will lead our strong multi-disciplinary Water team, delivering diverse and challenging projects for a range of Water clients. This will mean working closely with our Project Managers to manage the technical team and taking responsibility for the delivery, efficiency, and quality of all technical output.
You will have the opportunity to work with some of the UK water industry’s largest clients, delivering designs that will shape the way we obtain, clean, and distribute water for our local communities, using innovative and sustainable methods.
Your wellbeing is important to us – we offer a hybrid way of working where you can select from one of our many offices around the UK & Ireland and also have the option to work from home. In addition, we will cater for any of your development needs – we will fully support you in gaining extra qualifications or accreditations that will help you better your career.
About you
We are interested in speaking with candidates who are degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject with design management experience, ideally obtained within the water industry.
You’ll have a passion for the water and environment sector and supporting our developing civil engineers. You will also be experienced in successful project delivery and working collaboratively with project teams to develop innovative solutions.
In addition to the above, membership to a relevant engineering institution (e.g., ICE) and experience within construction, heavy civils / other regulatory sectors would also be beneficial, though not essential.
