ABOUT THE VACANCY:
We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and proactive Catering Assistant to support the Catering Lead to provide high quality, cost effective meals to learners, staff and visitors at Joseph Norton Academy.
Location
The role will be based at Joseph Norton Academy, HD8 9JU.
Working pattern
Minimum 10 hours per week, maximum 20 hours per week - must cover core times of Monday to Friday 11am until 1.00pm.
Minimum of 39 weeks per year, maximum of 52 weeks per year.
This role is term time. There will be additional days to work for staff training - these can be annualised or worked in school holidays.
ABOUT US:
Please note that we offer day time working (no weekends or evenings) and can offer flexibility with working hours to work around any existing commitments i.e. child collection times.
We can also offer work to fit around any school holidays for childcare (summer, half terms, Easter and Christmas).

ABOUT YOU:

We are committed to doing everything possible to ensure children get nutritious meals at school. The post holder will need a passion for catering and an interest in creating nutritional and healthy meals. Previous catering experience is desirable and experience of working in education settings would be advantageous.
The successful applicant will be supporting preparation and delivery of lunchtime menus. They will work as part of a team carrying out all duties as expected in a catering department to ensure a high level of customer service. They will be undertaking high quality cleaning regimes and must adhere to procedures such as, health and safety, allergen control, food safety and stock control and rotation.
We are looking for someone who is flexible to meet the needs of our learners and the team. It would be desirable if you have Food Safety Level 2, or be willing to undertake the training required.
