This is a metal sheet operative apprentice vacancy to complete a L2 Engineering Operative qualification. This full-time position (inclusive of 1 day per week in college) will develop skills in fabrication and welding.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
· Assisting in manufacturing and repair of metal cabinets and their component parts
· Reading and following technical drawings / sketches associated with each individual job.
· Selecting types of sheet metal according to sketches or engineering plans.
· Measuring to verify dimensions to drawings.
· Marking out, cutting and bending metals
· Fastening seams or joints by welding, bolting, or spot welding
· MIG and TIG welding.
· Using machines and hand tools to complete tasks.
In addition – Including and not limited to:
· You will need to have a good working relationship with other departmental personnel to promote the efficient working of the business.
· You will be required to perform any reasonable request from the Management.
· You must encourage good working practice and adherence to paperwork systems to maintain ISO 9001 quality & Health and Safety standards and ensure correct implementation.
