Job Description
The Value Proposition Director Aviation & Critical Infrastructure will have full ownership of developing and articulating compelling value propositions that will shape the way the Company delivers this portfolio of products and resonate with our target audience, driving market differentiation, and supporting our growth objectives.
The Value Propositions Director is an active member of the Aviation & Critical Infrastructure Portfolio Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the Aviation & Critical Infrastructure Value Proposition team (ca. 30 HC), ensuring their activities align with the Divisional strategy and consequent Annual Y-Tree activities.
Duties:
1. Accountable for the development of the Global Value Proposition Strategy, aligning it across the portfolio on a practical level and developing a KPI framework to measure and accelerate the roll-out with customers across all markets.
2. Ensures consistent articulation of the Aviation and Critical Infrastructure value proposition for Smiths Detection to all stakeholders, (both internal and external).
3. Through their management and product portfolio management team:
1. Ensure the smooth and cost-effective integration of 3rd parties into Solutions for Aviation and Critical Infrastructure.
2. Craft and refine value propositions that clearly communicate the unique benefits and competitive advantages of our solutions.
3. Champion Business Development for New Product Introductions and/or partnerships & acquisitions.
4. Conduct thorough market analysis to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
4. Work closely with cross-functional teams including Marcomms, Sales, and Service to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
5. Work in a collaborative environment to provide alignment on management of global customers and shaping national markets.
6. Define objectives in collaboration with Portfolio Director, assessed from a medium to long-term perspective.
7. Based on VOC, seek promising extensions to the portfolio as well as opportunities to remove non-relevant offerings from the portfolio.
8. Oversee Value creation plan (patents committee, partnerships, relationships with key funders) for the business.
9. Lead and develop employees through strong influencing skills & performance management and development.
10. Suggest and support changes to systems, tools, and processes to optimize overall business performance.
11. Collaborate with shared services to improve organizational efficiencies and expand capabilities.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
2. Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement / Lean principles (ideally Green Belt qualified).
