Job summary Lead Children's Physiotherapist Department: Children's Physiotherapy Part-time: Band 7 £46,148 - £52,809 per annum pro rata Hours: 20.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 7 Children's Physiotherapist to join our Children's Therapy Team. The team delivers physiotherapy services to children and young people aged 0-19 years within acute and community settings. We are looking to recruit a physiotherapist with experience of working with children and young people with complex needs and wishes to continue to develop the physiotherapy service at Redway where they will be a key link for families and other health professionals. Redway School has also recently employed a full-time paediatric physiotherapist. This is a wonderful opportunity to work jointly to further develop and deliver a high-quality service for these complex children. We offer a comprehensive induction, ongoing clinical and managerial support from experienced specialist staff, regular in-house training, as well as opportunities for involvement in service development. Interview date: 31 March 2025 Main duties of the job The post holder will be involved in supervision and support of a Band 6 physiotherapist and students as well as clinical support of 2 assistant practitioners. To be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of physiotherapy within home and school for pupils of Redway School for the MKUH Patients will be assessed and treated in a variety of different settings including outpatients, school or community as required by the area of clinical specialty To take the physiotherapy lead for children and young people with neurological, neuromuscular and developmental conditions To work in collaboration with Lead Therapists and the Therapy Service Leads to jointly provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Children's physiotherapy team, employed by MKUH in the delivery of a high-quality service for its patients The post holder will have knowledge of emerging clinical developments, provide advice to inform service development in the speciality in support of the appropriate Therapy Lead To demonstrate and role model specialist clinical assessment and treatment skills for an agreed caseload of patients To continually review staffing levels/skill mix in accordance with the changing needs of the service and informing the Therapy Lead of any problems that may arise.
