A rare and exciting opportunity has become available to join the RNLI as the Regional Lifesaving Support Team Manager. Leading the Lifesaving Support function in St Asaph, Wales this role provides critical and everyday support to RNLI Lifesaving teams, ensuring they have all the core functions in place to undertake their lifesaving work.
About the role
You will be responsible for managing and leading our Regional Support function and team at the Regional base in Wales. A small but essential team providing first line support to our Lifesaving volunteers and staff across Wales, the West and the Isle of Man. Reporting into the Regional Support Lead, you will work closely with the region’s Area Operations Managers andRegional Operations Lead.
Core activities will include:
* Leading a team of coordinators including direct line management responsibilities
* Working with Lifesaving Management to establish and inform the work priorities of the team, measuring and managing team performance and KPIs
* Collaborating across the other 5 Regional Support teams regarding process and system standardisation and continuous improvement
* Contributing as a member of the Regional Management Team as the lifesaving support subject matter expert.
About you
This management role would suit someone who proactively seeks to drive improvements and understands the importance of effective support systems and procedures. A people person who is not only able to provide consistent leadership to their direct reports but is also able to collaborate with other departments and teams.
Your application should demonstrate:
* Experience of managing support teams in a fast paced, customer service environment engaging with multiple stakeholders.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills for management and coordination of resources.
* Proven experience of influencing a team to achieve change.
* Experience of working with SAR/emergency services and/or volunteer workforce is desirable
Occasional travel and overnight stays across the region and other regional locations will be required as part of the role.
