Our promise has always been clear: we will do everything in our power to improve pay for colleagues. And so, if you start with us between now and 31 March your pay will be £11.94 per hour then from the 1April, this will increase to £12.62 per hour.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: This an exciting opportunity for caring, compassionate and talented support workers in Stockport to work in an established service, supporting 3 people. This service will be supporting people with learning disabilities. This is a great opening to make a real difference to the lives of others and gain great development. This service has a large garden and communal areas too - the lounge, kitchen and dining area. The people supported here enjoy a variety of different things, such as gaming and computers, going to the cinema, shopping, collecting pokemon cards and one person here loves Star Wards and science fiction.
There is always a minimum of 2 colleagues on shift at a time and a maximum of 4. At night time there is a waking night member of staff. There are additional 1:1 support hours in place for some of us.
With experience working in a health or social care setting, you will have an upbeat positive manner, as well as having a genuine passion for supporting people to become a part of their local and wider community.
You will also have experience working with people supported who present behaviours that require intensive support planning and management to ensure their safety and quality of life at all times. The current vacant hours are on day shifts only. A driving license would be beneficial for this role.
