You will be a well-qualified and inspiring teacher with outstanding subject knowledge. You will be able to teach Computer Science confidently from Year 7 through to A-Level. You should have experience of using a range of teaching and learning strategies and be able to offer enthusiasm for your subject and excellent pupil results at all levels. A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular programme and support the pastoral life of our School is essential.
The ability to teach another subject (such as Mathematics) is desirable.
You will join the experienced Computer Science department, who has an excellent track record of supporting pupils to achieve outstanding results. In 2024, our GCSE Computer Science(CAIE iGCSE) pupils - on average - achieved 1 ½grades higher than their baseline predictions with 85% of grades at 6or above. Computer Science(CAIE) is also a popular A-level subject. In 2024, 77% of grades were at B or above.
The Computer Science department consists of 5members of staff. The subject is taught in our 4, well-equipped computer rooms. All pupils are also issued with a school iPad.
The department has a strong culture of collaboration and support with colleagues working closely to develop one another’s subject knowledge and pedagogy. This role requires enthusiastic candidates who are committed to developing learning excellence across the department and expanding opportunities for co-curricular activities both within the department and beyond.
