These opportunities are on a four-year fixed-term basis. We may have roles in both our shift and day teams so please cite your preference on your application.
The Opportunity
You’ll be required to carry out a variety of security duties, such as personnel and vehicle access control, patrols and maintaining appropriate security records and searches, with particular emphasis on the use of modern security techniques. Full training is given in all aspects of the job too!
Pay, benefits and culture
The salary range associated with this role is between £33,885
- £44,112 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What you’ll be doing
The roles and responsibilities of a Security Guard include:
- Ensuring that all activities are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, security agreements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and safety rules
- Being competent to undertake and advise on general security guard duties
- Maintaining appropriate records of occurrences and all logs related to the security department
- Responding to emergencies and events in accordance with procedures and published plans
- Undertaking duties in accordance with the Site Emergency and Counter Terrorist (CT) Contingency plan.
Who you are
Firstly, we need you to have excellent people and communication skills to achieve effective and acceptable ‘front of house’ standards; able to articulate clearly and respond in a tactful and discretionary manner. You’ll need proven experience of being proactive and working as an effective member of a close-knit team, as well as having a flexible approach to work duties and cover arrangements.
As a minimum, you will be educated to GCSE/national qualification standards (or equivalent) and holding these qualifications to include ‘C’ and above grade passes in English and mathematics will be an advantage. A solid understanding of security procedures and a Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualification in security or service background would be a distinct advantage. You’ll also be required to be security cleared to SC level, which requires continuous residency in the UK for the past 5 years.
Computer literacy for monitoring and responding to security systems is paramount, as is demonstrating command and control behaviour as required. The ability to complete detailed and meaningful verbal and written reports of specific and routine incidents is also required.
