Job Description
Job Title: Cleaning Supervisor
Salary Scale: G5
Hours: 15 hours per week
Responsible to: Site Manager
Required for: ASAP
Academies: Brambles Primary Academy
Job Purpose:
To provide efficient and effective cleaning/site support to Brambles Primary Academy, including ensuring that the security and general appearance of the building and surroundings are maintained in accordance with the required standards.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
ORGANISATION
* Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points
* Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops
* Mopping floors with wet or damp mops
* Using electronically powered scrubbing/polishing/vacuuming machines to scrub, polish, spray and clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training)
* Dusting, damp wiping, washing or polishing the furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments
* Replenishing consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required
* Cleaning toilets, urinals, hand basins and sinks
* Using chemical agents as directed by the Site Manager in the discharge of cleaning operation or maintenance procedures (after receiving proper instruction and training)
* Undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension from floor level, during periodic cleaning maintenance programmes
* Check the standards of cleanliness of the work carried out by cleaners daily
* Evaluate the site on a daily basis and ensure all requirements are fulfilled.
* Be flexible around after school events e.g. parent’s evenings when possible.
* Complete all in-house training as required
* Adhere to all COSHH requirements and legislation.
ADMINISTRATION
* Keep a check on cleaning stock levels and inform the Site Manager of low stock levels (e.g. cleaning products)
* Carry out routine administrative tasks required from time to time e.g. checking off cleaning tasks on daily cleaning specification sheets
* Support cleaners with specific areas and cover areas when staff have agreed holidays or sickness/absence
* Liaise with cleaning staff to organise holiday requests, LOAs and holiday working hours
* Carry out basic administration tasks with contractors as required
* Ensure all paperwork such as the Contractor Policy and signing the PAMP file is being adhered to in the absence of the site manager
SITE SECURITY
* Have responsibility for locking/opening up the Academy site. Ensure that all windows, internal and external doors and gates are locked and secured daily
* Communicate effectively and efficiently with the Site Manager regarding site concerns and damage
* Communicate with site monitoring contractors as required
* Ensure that the relevant keys are kept secure as instructed by the Site Manager
* Cover/relief for the Site Manager during holidays.
RESOURCES
* Operate relevant equipment safely
* Maintain tidy and organised work spaces and storage areas
* Check equipment/machinery used and ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to
* Provide support to the cleaning team as requested and in accordance with own training/skill parameters
* Complete accident/near-miss reports when required
