Job Description:
Our client, a global Managed Services and Specialist Staffing provider, is looking for a HR Advisor / ER Partner to join their growing team to provide customer-focused, responsive, accurate, and pragmatic HR advice and support to managers, employees, and flexible employees in line with Company policies, internal procedures, and legal requirements.
The Business
* Acts as an "ambassador" of the Group, working in line with company culture and values.
* Understands the company brands and their unique offerings.
* Works with the business to deliver a first-class advisory service covering a range of employment and employee relations matters.
* Provides a positive customer experience through each advisory interaction throughout the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Advice and Guidance:
* Inform and advise managers on all matters related to Employee Relations in line with best practice, company policies and practices, and current legislation whilst ensuring understanding of commercial requirements, key activities, and company standards.
* Effective and dedicated case management of people-related matters to both permanent staff and temporary workers, such as: disciplinaries, performance management, grievance, absence management, TUPE, redundancy, and ACAS.
* Developing effective relationships with the business to promote good employee relations practice across the organisation.
* Provide advice, support, and guidance on client calls in conjunction with managers, when required.
* Responding to other HR queries as appropriate, referring to colleagues for advice where necessary.
* Ensures that relevant material such as policies and guidelines are up to date, which includes policy development.
* Liaison with Perm Payroll and the HR Admin team where necessary for continuation of process/payments.
Case Management:
* Case management of Employee Relations cases e.g., disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, restructures, relocation, absence management, flexible working, TUPE and ACAS ensuring response times are timely and align with both statutory guidelines and company policy.
* Drafting and reviewing of required letters and associated documents.
* Support and advise on Employee Relations cases across a range of employment sectors for our temporary workforce ensuring the advice is tailored in accordance with the workers’ contract (e.g. employees/associates/contract for services).
* End-to-end management of ACAS early conciliation cases, including COT3 agreements.
* Facilitate any occupational health referrals for sickness absence cases.
* Management of the shared query system, in-line with the standard response time.
Technology and HR Systems:
* Accurate and prompt data management on HR database where necessary.
* Running basic custom reports where necessary.
* Ensure all Employee Relations cases are accurately recorded on the case management log.
* Ensures that policies and guidelines are available via the company’s HR system.
* Ensure all employee data is managed in line with GDPR requirements and agreed internal Data Retention processes.
Relationship Management:
* To develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with managers, HR Business Partners, and colleagues.
* Liaison with brand-based HR Business Partners to deliver appropriate and timely Employee Relations support.
Change Management:
* Supports organisational change activity, acting as a change agent. Supports managers’ thinking around new organisational structures, highlighting possible solutions, challenges, and opportunities to meet the commercial requirements.
* Guide managers towards successful execution of organisational change via robust and pragmatic Employee Relations advice.
* Support managers to take calculated risks whilst mitigating down potential employment legislation challenges.
* To keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and human resources best practice, knowledge sharing with the team to ensure continuous development and improvement in service offered.
Projects:
* Work with wider People team members to achieve quarterly departmental objectives.
* Support with ongoing review of Employee Relations related material: letter templates, policies, and guidance documents.
Experience and Skills
* HR Advisory background with a strong bias towards Employee Relations and Employment Legislation.
* Proven end-to-end case management of Employee Relations cases.
* Knowledgeable approach, able to instil confidence in others.
* Solid understanding of employment legislation and best practice.
* Understanding of GDPR.
* Knowledge of HR Systems.
* Proven organisational, judgement, and decision-making skills.
* Delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and influencing skills, articulated verbally and in writing.
* Experience of working in a corporate or in the professional services sector.
* Experience in dealing with multiple employee types across different industries.
* Knowledge of the end-to-end TUPE process.
* Experience with managing complex redundancy/restructure programmes.
