We are currently looking for an enthusiastic administrator to join the Administration Team at Bodmin Community Hospital.
The post is full time but part time hours as a job share will be considered. The primary duty of the post holder will be to work in a newly set up service Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). This will be on a rotational basis with some weekend working. There will also be requirement to support the wards. You will need to be extremely organised and pay close attention to detail and be flexible to deal with changing work environments and priorities. Having the ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly will also be necessary.
Previous experience of working in a patient or client-focused environment will be an advantage, as will flexibility and experience of working in a busy reception.

To be the first point of contact for all patients, visitors and members of the public attending the hospital and to ensure they are fully assisted as required when covering reception/Same Day Emergency Care. This is a key function within the hospital.
To register patients in to the Minor Injury Unit, outpatient or x-ray departments using the appropriate IT systems.
To learn the role of the ward clerk in order to support and offer continuity to the nursing team.
Maintaining and updating electronic patient records in real time, following training using training manual and procedures supplied.
Answer the telephone in accordance with Department procedure.
To understand and be fully competent in a range of administration functions, responsibilities, and duties both routine and non-routine to contribute to the effective delivery of patient care, through knowledge of hospital systems and consultant practice.
Supporting and assisting all staff, patients and visitors to site.
The ability to prioritise work, use your own initiative and to work as part of a team is essential. The ability to remain calm and present an understanding approach at all times is essential for this post, along with excellent communication skills, interpersonal and organisational skills.
The post holder will demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work, demonstrate their understanding of confidentiality and have a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude to provide administrative cover to other departments when required.
