Night Registered Veterinary Nurse

Hours: 7.45pm-7.45am as part of a 5 on, 10 off rota.

Your role and responsibilities
You will work as part of a large night team that includes interns, nurses, trainee nurses and patient care assistants.
You will provide inpatient and emergency care to patients from all disciplines (including neurology, surgery, oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine), assisting with incoming emergencies and be responsible for case handovers each day. This is a varied role that will require you to be able to work under pressure, co-ordinate cases and be willing to learn and develop your skills.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with the Senior Night Nurse and Head of Nursing Services to develop and implement new protocols.
This is a rewarding and challenging role that will require team and individual work throughout the night.
This is a working shift with suitable rest breaks and facilities provided. Your career with our large and varied multi-disciplinary caseload in a supported environment.
Experience in a referral setting would be advantageous however full training will be provided.

Referral experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
What kind of person you need to be
* You will need to be a highly motivated self-starter able to demonstrate leadership qualities to co-ordinate, support and motivate our busy night team by prioritising, problem-solving and delegating effectively.
* You will have experience of, and a passion for, mentoring and training colleagues and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills to assist in managing conflicting priorities.
* As a member of our senior nursing team, your desire to provide the best clinical service to our patients will allow you to demonstrate a proactive approach to developing and shaping a growing service.
Specific experiences / qualifications / status / citizenship requirements
You must fulfil the following requirements:
* Proof of your right to work in the UK
* Be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience
* Have an excellent command of written and spoken English
* Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of your work
Hours - 7.45pm-7.45am as part of a 5 on, 10 off rota.
You will participate in our Night RVN on-call rota.
