The School:
Supply Desk is pleased to be working with an outstanding-rated school in the Edgware area that prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children, allowing them to succeed to the best of their ability no matter what challenges they may face. The school is looking for support with its students and is seeking an excellent support member of staff who has experience or qualifications with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
The role will require the following responsibilities:
1. Collaborating with the teacher and assisting with creating and delivering activities.
2. Developing a holistic approach to meeting profound learning difficulties by delivering on action plans and strategies which will enable learners to make good progress.
3. Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programmes for a designated group/form.
4. Working with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies to provide the best support possible.
5. Establishing therapeutic relationships with students and interacting with them according to individual needs.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
1. Previous experience working with SEN or a desire to work with children with SEN.
2. Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop.
3. Able to manage challenging behaviour.
4. Able to commit to working fixed days, full or part-time.
5. Have a clear and valid DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
6. Have relevant training to support students with learning difficulties.
